Will push ups, pull ups, sit ups and interval training get me ripped?

2 min read

Asked by: Jason Roberts

Short answer: Yes, see The 60-Day Challenge. It will get you to a base level of strength, and help burn fat – assuming you don’t overcompensate with the amount of food you eat. However, I would look into body weight exercises to help the rest of your body.

Can you get ripped just doing push-ups and pull-ups?

A Weighty Matter. If your goal is to build muscle, push-ups and pull-ups will definitely add to your muscle mass if you do enough of them. But it’s worth keeping in mind that resistance training with heavier weights that bring you to temporary muscle failure after six to eight reps are likely to build muscle faster.

Can you get fit just doing push-ups and sit-ups?

You cannot get fit by just doing push-ups and sit-ups. Repeatedly performing the same exercises will cause your body to plateau, your muscles to stop responding to the stimuli, and slower fitness progress. Alternatively, intensifying and diversifying your workout routine will render better results.

Will pushups and situps everyday help me get buff?

Doing pushups every day will help you gain upper body strength. But keep in mind you’ll need to mix up the types of pushups you’re doing after a while to continue to challenge your muscles. If you want to try a pushup challenge to do the exercise daily or several times a week, try different types of pushups.
