Squats lagging behind deadlift?

Why is my squat so far behind my deadlift?

You miss a lift because you were too weak through your very weakest part of the lift. The sticking point in the squat occurs a bit above parallel. Most importantly, that means it occurs when the shoulders are above where they’d be at the starting point in the deadlift for almost everyone.

Should your squat and deadlift be the same?

So should you squat or deadlift more? The average lifter will squat 90% of their deadlift. Therefore, if you deadlift 100lbs, you should squat at least 90lbs.
