What is the best way to preserve clams?
Because clams must be allowed to breathe to stay alive, store them in a single layer, covered with a damp cloth in the fridge (40ÂºF), and use them as soon as possible—definitely within two days. Never store clams covered or sealed in plastic. Any clams that die before being cooked should be discarded.
How long are bottle bar clams good for?
Properly stored, an unopened can of clams will generally stay at best quality for about 3 to 5 years, although it will usually remain safe to use after that.
