How do I get to Echo Lake?

To reach Lake Aloha or Lake of the Woods you will need to commit to a longer hike but both are beautiful hikes. Directions from South Lake Tahoe: Take Highway 50 southwest to Echo Summit and turn onto Johnson Pass Road. Stay left and the road will lead you to the parking area by Lower Echo Lake.

Can you swim in Echo Lake CA?

Echo Lake Beach is a popular, freshwater swimming spot located off Route 102 on the west side of Mount Desert Island. There is a small, sandy beach and a roped off swimming area at the southern end of Echo Lake. The average summer water temperatures are 64 degrees in June, 72 degrees in July, and 73 degrees in August.
