How do you play tetherball by yourself?


Area the object of the game is to get the ball. And tether to fully wrap around the pole in your direction during gameplay one player will be hitting the ball clockwise.

Can you use your fist in tetherball?

Ball can only be hit with hand or forearm. Ball or rope cannot be held or caught. Players must stay within play area.

Why did they get rid of tetherball?

Tetherball. While playing with this equipment, there was a high risk of the ball smashing your face or breaking your hands or fingers because of hitting the pole instead of the ball. Due to the number of complaints and restrictions, this equipment became extinct on most playgrounds.

What happens if you touch the rope in tetherball?

Fouls. Players are not allowed to touch the pole or the rope at any point during a tetherball game. Crossing over the line that defines a player’s territory is considered offsides. Throwing the ball is not allowed, and all strikes must bounce off the hands or forearms.

How high off the ground should a tetherball be?

The correct dimensions for a tetherball pole is 12 feet long with a diameter of 2 and 3/8 inches. The tetherball pole is to be installed 2 feet into the ground with 10 feet of pole above ground for play. Some youth model poles will be set at 8 feet above ground for play with a shortened rope.
