Can you change caster wheels?

Removing the wheels from your office chair is a simple and easy process. In most cases it doesn’t even require any tools. In this step, you will remove just one caster wheel to identify the size and type.

Can you remove castors wheels?

Some casters are secured without a fastener and can be easily removed if you pull hard enough. However, in some instances, you may have to pry the caster to remove it from the chair. To remove caster wheels from your office chair, you will need a flat-head screwdriver and a pry bar.

Insert the blade of a metal putty knife under the rim of the screw plate if you couldn’t remove the caster by pulling it. Gently pry up the edges on all sides of the screw plate. Rock the screw plate back and forth very gently if necessary to loosen the caster stem. Pull the caster and stem straight out from the leg.

The best method is to have two screwdrivers. I just I've got a Phillips. And a flathead but probably two flat heads are better nice. And robust so they're not going to bend.
