Can you freeze whey?

Whey can be placed in a covered container in your refrigerator, where it will keep for several months. It can also be frozen and used later (see #4 on my uses for whey list for more details on freezing whey).

Can you freeze whey and use as a starter?

YES! Add 2-3 tablespoons of whey to 2 quarts of heated and cooled milk. (More or less whey may also work–this is just what I do.) Whisk it well and incubate as usual.
