Can you fit 700C wheels on a 27 inch bike?

27-inch and 700C tires are close enough in size that the inner tubes are compatible; i.e. you can use a 27-inch inner tube in a 700C tire, and vice-versa. However, you can NOT use a 27-inch tire on a 700C wheel, and vice-versa.

IS 700C equal to 28 inch?

28”/700C/29er

The wheel sizes 28”, 700C and 29er or 29” all refer to the same rim size: ETRTO 622. The tyres can differ, but the 28”, 700C and 29er are all the exact same rim diameter. The 700 markings will be followed by the width in mm, and the 28 or 29 markings will be followed by the width in inches.

Can you fit 26 wheels on a 700C bike?

A quick build confirmed it was feasible. The Pomp has a relatively high BB and can use 38mm 700c tyres, so the 26″ Panaracers are not a problem. It has 170mm cranks, low gearing and BMX handlebars. The pedal clearance is acceptable, it’s not going to be going to be fully cranked over at high speed on bends.
