Why is GHS being implemented?

The GHS was developed by the United Nations, as a way to bring into agreement the chemical regulations and standards of different countries. In short, it is an international attempt to get everyone on the same page.

What are the ways the GHS is implemented?

Implementation through international legal instruments, recommendations, codes and guidelines. Implementation at regional/national level. Chemical’s assessment in accordance with the GHS. Capacity-building, tools and guidance.
