Your water meter is generally located near the curb in front of your home although in some areas (usually cold climates) it may be inside your home usually in the basement. Outside meters are typically housed in a concrete box usually marked “water” (as shown in the photo) or in a meter pit with a cast iron lid.
Where do you usually find the water meter?
Most water meters are fitted outside near your outside stop tap. It will be under a small metal or plastic cover in your driveway, garden or nearby footpath. Sometimes these can be a bit further down the road. If your meter is indoors it can usually be found under the kitchen sink by your inside stop tap.
How do you know if you have a water meter?
