What replaced the Callaway XR Irons?

The unexpected is the Rogue X, a new player in a rapidly expanding niche. We’ll talk about Rogue X later, but first let’s discuss the, ahh, rogue elephants in the room. Rogue and Rogue Pro replace the Steelhead XR and Steelhead XR Pro in the Callaway family of irons.

Does Callaway still make XR Irons?

Not any more though as Callaway has brought their face cup and internal standing wave from their woods into the XR irons, but in a form that looks like a normal set of irons right through the set.

Are Callaway XR irons good for beginners?

The Callaway XR OS irons are great for beginners because they impart good swing mechanics. The internal standing wave technology sets the center of gravity as deep and low as it can possibly be. The result is very high MOI and irons that feel like they swing themselves.

What is the difference between Callaway XR and XR Irons?

Compared to the XR irons, the XR OS irons add loft in the long and mid irons to varying degrees. The 4- and 7-irons have 1.5 degrees more loft, and the 5- and 6-iron have 2 degrees more loft. The remaining irons are similar in loft to the XR. Meanwhile, there are slightly longer shaft lengths through the 8-iron.

Are Callaway XR irons good for high handicappers?

With wider soles and Callaway’s leading 360 Face Cup technology, the XR OS iron is supposed to be a best friend to high handicappers.

Which Callaway irons are most forgiving?

Callaway X Hot Irons

The X Series irons are the latest upgrade in the most forgiving Callaway sets. They won’t give you massive distance gains, but you’ll hit the ball straighter which is of prime importance as a beginner or high handicapper looking to just have more fun and consistency on the golf course.

How far should you hit a 7 iron?

Average 7 Iron Distances are following:

Beginning golfers- 100 yards (men) or 60 yards (women) Intermediate golfers- 135 yards (men) and 75 yards (women) Advanced golfers- 165 yards (men) or 140 yards (women)

What is the easiest iron to hit?

From experience, most golfers will tell you that the 7-iron is the easiest club to master. A 5-iron will go further, and you can be on the green in three if you are lucky, but a 7-iron will go at least 120-130 yards, getting you easily on the green in four.

What is the hardest club to hit?

A 1-iron is the hardest iron to hit because it is the longest and has the lowest loft of between 14° and 16°. The rise of hybrid clubs to replace long irons however means in the modern game 1-irons and 2-irons are very rare indeed resulting in 3-irons and 4-irons in reality being the most difficult irons to hit.

What are the easiest irons to hit for seniors?

With combo sets, the longer clubs (4, 5, and 6) are more like hybrids than traditional irons. Then, the 7, 8, 9, and pitching wedge have a traditional iron look and feel of a standard iron. This makes long ones easier to hit (especially off the turf) and the shorter irons geared more toward performance.
