Should your trucks be wider than your board?
Your axles should be about as wide as your board. A bit less or a bit more length on the truck is ok. If your truck is a bit wider then your ride will be more stable, but your edge pressure will be reduced meaning you need to make a greater of an effort to turn.
Do wider trucks turn better?
Wider trucks provide more stability because you cover a larger surface. They are less responsive than narrow trucks resulting in a larger turning radius compared to narrow trucks. Narrow trucks weigh less, are smaller, and have a lower moment of inertia. Because of this, it makes it kickflips a little bit easier.

Should I get low or high trucks?
High trucks are better for turning as the truck can pivot further as the different geometry allows more movement. Larger wheels can be fitted without wheel bite, 53mm to 58mm, as the axle now sits further away from the deck. You can ride looser trucks as the wheels will have more room to move before hitting the deck.
