The Xcel Program is an alternative USA Gymnastics competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience.
What is the difference between Xcel and levels in gymnastics?
The biggest difference between JO and Xcel is that where JO has very strict requirements, Xcel’s are more relaxed and allow the gymnast more of a range of skills, as well as more room to train and progress at their own pace.

The Xcel Diamond division is comparable in skill level to a Level 7 in the Junior Olympic program. While these are requirements, some gymnasts compete in the Xcel Diamond level without being able to do all the skills listed below.
