Dixit and Dixit Oddyssey are two separate base games, each one has a different set of cards, and as said above, the original Dixit comes with components for up to 6 players while Oddyssey comes with components and rules for up to 12. Also, you can get the Oddyssey cards as an expansion for the original one.

The concept of all the Dixit games are the same, they just have different images. The regular Dixit’s images are definitely random. The Odyssey and Journey are more themed around travel and adventure.

Having 1-30 on one side of the board feels a little crowded, and if you’ve played Dixit more than like, twice, you don’t need the rules explained again every time you look at the board.

You can’t go wrong with the original Dixit IMO it has the best artwork for the game – beautiful, abstract and imaginative. If you want to expand it, Dixit 2 (I think now it’s called Quest?) has the same artist, Marie Cardouat, so there’s some consistency in the artwork.
