What is the point system for IEA?

Each rider is allowed to compete in a maximum of 5 shows per season. Hunt Seat riders in Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 11 need 18 points to qualify for Regionals and riders in Zones 6 ,7, 8, 9, and 10 need 15 points. Western riders need 15 points to qualify for Regionals.

To be eligible for post season competitions (individual or team) riders must have accumulated the required points and participated in a minimum of two (2) Varsity Intermediate or Varsity Open Flat classes during the regular season. capable of jumping 2′-2’6” on their usual mounts at home.
How many points do you need to qualify for IEA?
In Zone 1 during the 2018-2019 season, a rider needs 18 points to qualify for regional finals. If they get these required points, they are able to advance to regionals. But if a rider receives 21 points or more, the rider points out and is required to move up to the next level for the following year.

The biggest part of funding comes from the USA and Japan, two countries that depend heavily on fossil and nuclear fuels. Both of these countries have also the most votes on decisions made by the IEA.

How do I join an IEA team?
The Team application must be completed online before any riders may start their application for that team. All adult members must submit a certificate confirming that they have completed SafeSport Training through US Equestrian. More information can be found on our SafeSport page.
