A hydrofoil is a long and hydrodynamically designed fin with wings. The beauty of it is that it mitigates the effects of the wind on the surface of the water, reducing friction and allowing you to angle at 90 degrees in less than a second.

How does the hydrofoil work to make a wave?

It must have lower pressure than free flow. Pressure. With each consecutive streamline above the top side of the wing. The pressure will rise up to a free flow.

How do you use a foil board?

And just kind of coming up onto a plane by putting a little more pressure on your back leg and start experimenting. And just rising. And coming back down slowly. And this is a really slow movement.

Who invented foil sailing?

inventor Enrico Forlanini

The first development of a foiling water vessel was a 60hp motorboat designed and built by Italian inventor Enrico Forlanini in 1906.
