Can you reinsert the pin on a bike chain?
If you are repairing an existing chain, always use a new chain pin rather than reusing an existing pin. Your new pin should be compatible with your chain speed and brand. With most new chain pins, you insert them half way using a chain tool, then snap off the protruding end of the pin with pliers.

Try to flex the chain at that link – if it feels stiff, push the pin the other way a little bit and try again. Repeat pushing that same pin back and forth in very small increments with the chain break tool, and keep flexing the chain until it is no longer stiff.

Do KMC chains have a direction?
KMC 11 speed chains are not directional but I’ve found that installing the fat end of the Missing Link in the forward direction helps shifting. Shimano 11 speed chains, some are marked directional and others are not.
