Is it safe to swim in Lake Lure?

The beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and is a great way to spend a hot summer day. It also includes a water-park, picnic area, and a nice, covered shelter for rent. Bear in mind that it is unlawful (and unsafe) to swim in Lake Lure off the shore of any town-owned property, except at the town-owned beach.
How deep is the pool at Sliding Rock?
8 foot deep
Sliding Rock is a 60 foot natural water slide that ends in a 8 foot deep pool of water, with 2 observation platforms, operated by Adventure Pisgah.
Is Looking Glass Falls still closed?
Due to hazards created by Tropical Storm Fred, the stairs to the lower observation deck and the pool below the falls are closed as of August 28, 2021.
