Built in 1964, this iconic yellow tourist magnet started the trend foroversized objects – giving way to big apples, avocados, rams, beer cans, guitars and much more. The genesis for the Big Banana came over 50 years ago when John Landi was looking for a means to stop passing traffic at his roadside banana stall.
