Is Monarch good for beginners?
Monarch Mountain has some of the best beginner ski terrain in Colorado, if not the West, and fun terrain for skiers and riders of all ability levels.
Is Monarch on the Epic Pass?
Monarch is NOT a member of the IKON nor EPIC passes. They are, however, eligible for the Migration Ticket discount, Monday through Friday only.

Choose a zipper or some clothing some clothing has a wicket holder. Slide your wicket through the zipper. Take your lift ticket. Put the back half on first and fold the top.

Despite rising to 11,312 feet, Monarch Pass can be reached fairly easily during all seasons via the three lane US Highway 50. Although there are many tight turns and steep grades of up to 7%, most passenger vehicles will have no issue safely reaching the summit during good conditions.

Why does skiing cost so much?
The reason skiing is expensive is because you need to buy or rent equipment (e.g. skis, boots, goggles, safety gear) and the right clothes for the shifting conditions in the mountains. You also need to travel to the resort, a place to stay and food and beverages for the whole week.
Is a ski pass the same as a lift pass?
They are the same. Ask at the ski school if there is a way to avoid paying for a full pass, since you are only going to a learning area for two hours. In fact, you may not be using the lifts at all, but only going to and from the teaching area.

Coat length for skiing and snowboarding should be between 1 to 5 inches past the top of the hip bone (iliac crest). Longer coats than this range coats will impact mobility and increase drag. However, whether you ski in a shorter or longer jacket is up to your own personal style preference.

How many pairs of snow pants do you need?
If you can’t be bothered with washing, three pairs will just about see you through a normal week. Wool-based base layers, such as those made by Ice Breaker, get less whiffy, but aren’t quite as good at keeping you dry. You might just get away with one pair over the course of a week: but you’re better off with two.
Is a white ski jacket a good idea?
If you look good in white, why not? Just be aware that it will get dirty pretty quickly. Not so much from the skiing, but if you ever sit on a chairlift with dirt on it, or if you walk a little too close to your dirty car in the parking lot, then white is very hard to keep clean.
