How do you unlock stabilus lift mat?
To unlock, the support tube is swiveled back into the central position. The lock of a gas spring with the lock on the inside is comparable with the mecha- nics of a ball point pen. A light push on the piston rod in the extended position locks it; a quick movement in the extension direc- tion releases the lock.
How do I install universal lift support?
It is best to install the shaft end of the support first place ball socket on the support end over the ball stud. And press firmly.
Where is the part number on a stabilus lift O Mat?
To find your gas spring, enter the number of your gas spring in “Type”. The number is listed in the red square and consists of six digits or 4 digits and 2 letters. The number to the right is the pressure (here: 900N).
Which way should a gas strut be installed?
– The gas strut should always be fitted with the piston pointing down. – Use suitable end fittings and angle joints to avoid coupling jamming.
How do you install lift arms?
Use your flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips loose at both ends of the support. Be careful and wear eye protection. Because these clips are under tension and can pop out quickly and unexpectedly.
How do you compress a lift strut?
Put a couple twists in it just to secure it so that it doesn't slip out of position. After you compress the strut with the pipe clamp then bring the a pair of baling wires.
Why won’t my gas struts compress?
If your gas strut will not compress you need to let more gas out of it. The pressure is too high for the strut to compress under the weight of the door. If all the gas has been released out of the strut and it still won’t compress it is likely that your struts have been overextended.
How do you install gas struts on a bed?
It's just a clamp holding it in place. We get that off. This just pops off and we can push the plant back in place. Now we'll go do the same thing on the bottom clasp.
How do you measure lift support?
Step to measure the rod length measure the rod length from the center of the rod and connection point to where the rod meets the tube.
Can gas struts be installed upside down?
I don't know Watson we recommend that your gas trucks should be installed on an angle of 60 degrees. Or less.
Are gas struts directional?
Gas struts and dampers have seals. In order for the seal life to be as designed the struts must be installed in the proper orientation. For whichever position is most often occurring in the application, the rod end of the strut should be installed lower that the body.
Can gas struts be fitted upside down?
When installing a gas strut it should be on a sixty degrees or less tilt with the cylinder the highest point not the shaft. This is because the Gas Strut cylinder houses a small amount of oil in charge of keeping the seal lubricated and oiling the shaft as it passes through the seal.
What angle do you mount gas struts?
For this reason, one of the basic recommendations when incorporating gas springs in your design is to make sure they are used at an angle of less than 60 degrees from the vertical.
What happens when you put on shocks upside down?
Some people say that monotube or gas pressurize shocks can be mounted upside down, however in time they will develop and extra inch or more of piston travel that has little to no dampening effect whatsoever. Ultimately: don’t mount shocks upside down just because it looks cool.
