Down your local hardware store you can find wood filler for about four dollars and it's what we're going to be using to fill in this chip.

Apply the wood repair filler to the chipped area, making sure that you completely fill it in. Use a putty knife if necessary to spread the filler evenly. Wait for wood repair filler to dry. Sand the repaired area smooth using the sandpaper.
