Does cold affect dropper post?

Suggestions? Cold weather shouldn’t really effect the performance of a healthy dropper post. It’s likely a sign that it needs to be serviced i.e. taken apart, cleaned, re-greased and possibly replace the air cartridge (or bleed the lines if it’s hydraulic).

Why is my dropper post not working?

If you press the lever of your dropper post and nothing happens (the post either stays up or down), then there is not enough tension on the cable. You’ll want to ADD tension. To do so, turn the barrel adjuster counterclockwise. Check the dropper post by pressing the lever.

To test whether this is the issue you’re facing, push your saddle all the way down, loosen your seat clamp entirely, then actuate the dropper. If your post extends fully with a loose saddle clamp you’ve found your culprit. Use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten the clamp to 4-5 Nm and retest your dropper.
