Do doormats go inside or outside?
Why do you need a doormat inside? Once you step over the threshold, indoor door mats do the critical final dry. While your outside scraper has removed the big pieces of dirt, it has also stirred up the smaller ones.
Can doormats be left outside?
We would not recommend using any doormat made from natural outside. As coir is a natural product it will start to biodegrade if it gets wet or is left in standing water e.g. from rain. We would only recommend using coir products indoors or in a semi-exposed area e.g. a covered porchway.
What is the purpose of a doormat?
The primary function of a doormat is to take dirt and moisture from shoes and hold onto it so that the mess doesn’t make its way into your house. Doormats can also look great too and provide the perfect finishing touch to your entrance, but the most important thing is how well they clean.
Which way should a doormat face?
Vastu-compliant main doors are constructed in the east, the north, the northeast or the west direction. A green or earthy-coloured doormat is well-suited for a main door, facing the east. Doormats of darker hues of blue should be placed near doors in the north direction.
