Is SLX compatible with deore?

And here’s perhaps the best part: All of these similarities mean that new Deore is fully cross-compatible with XTR, XT and SLX 12-speed components.

What is Shimano pull ratio?

Cable pull * Derailleur shift ratio = Cog pitch

Cable Pull Derailleur Ratio
Shimano 9 2.5 1.7
Shimano 10 Road 2.3 1.7
Shimano 10 Mountain 3.4 1.2
Shimano 11 Road 2.7 1.4*

What hub does Shimano SLX use?

Currently, Shimano only use Micro Spline for their mountain bike cassettes; namely, the XTR M9100, Deore XT M8100 and the SLX M7100, with the 10-tooth top cog.

Is SLX higher than Deore?

The Deore brand has been a household name among mountain bikers the world over for a long time. Deore components sit right in the middle of Shimano’s component hierarchy, below SLX and above the upper end of the entry-level groupsets, Alivio.

Are all Shimano shifters compatible?

Just for clarity, current generation (10-, 11- and 12-speed) Shimano road and mountain bike components are not inter-compatible with each other because they use different cable pull ratios. For example, you couldn’t use a set of road shifters with a mountain bike rear derailleur.

Can you mix Shimano groupsets?

It is possible to mix and match as long as you get components from the same generation. For example: 9000 Dura Ace, 6800 Ultegra, and 5800 105 are all cross compatible. Each have 11-speeds in the rear, use the same cable pull per shift and use the same front derailleur design.

Are all Shimano cassettes compatible?

SRAM and Shimano cassettes, on either road or mountain bike, are interchangeable with each other as the spacing is the same between the sprockets.

Are 11 speed and 12 speed hubs compatible?

The 12-speed cassette is designed to be backwards compatible with the existing 11-speed road freehub, while the 12 speed-specific freehub (available on Dura Ace hubs currently) can’t be used with the 11-speed parts. Sram HG-style cassettes are largely the same spacing as Shimano, with the 10 speed exception.

Are Shimano freehub bodies interchangeable?

Most Shimano Freehub bodies are interchangeable.

Are Shimano SLX good?

The Shimano SLX is a great beginner casting reel because its 20% more compact than some of it’s alternatives and it’s at an affordable price range that will allow you to try it out and see if you like it.

Can you mix shifters and derailleurs?

In many instances, it is possible to mix different levels of shifters and derailleurs from the same brand (e.g. Dura-Ace/Ultegra/105; Red/Force/Rival; Super Record/Record/Chorus), however it’s not safe to assume that this will always be the case.

Do shifters and derailleurs have to match?

If all the parts are new, then ignore all that stuff. The shifters and derailleurs need to match. Front: Sram and Shimano work with eachother on the front derailleur.

Will any shifter work with any derailleur?

What level is Shimano Deore?

Is Shimano XT better than Deore?

Thanks to its levers, the Deore XT operates smoother and faster and since the price difference is minimal, you should go for the greater product. The XT bests Deore in terms of weight, 148 grams versus 162, in the case of the top swing 3×10 version, even though the prices are even closer, of 30 and 22 euros.

Is NX better than Deore?

NX Eagle’s shifting isn’t as crisp as Deore’s, where each shift has significantly more definition. The Deore derailleur’s clutch is adjustable – compared to NX’s non-adjustable version – and controlled the chain better than NX.
