Is sandboarding dangerous?

As far as extreme boardsports go, sandboarding is quite safe — but it doesn’t come without risks. Most boards don’t reach quite the same speed sliding on sand dunes as they would on snow, and most people don’t get any serious injuries from sandboarding even if they fall during their ride.

Is hand waxing better than machine?

Basically, a machine is required to accelerate the overall process. You can do the same by hand, it just takes longer. If you have the time, its hard to match the detail hand waxing can do. However for serious correction like removing swirls or heavy scratches – a machine is a must.

How many years does a snowboard last?

As long as your board is stored dry, well supported and waxed, it can last for over 10 years in storage without deteriorating too much. Most riders store their boards for about 6 months in between seasons each year.

Can you scrape too much wax off a snowboard?

Yes, there is. What will happen is that leaving too much wax on your snowboard will dry the base out more quickly. Some people believe that leaving wax on the base on their snowboards will make them go down the hill faster.

Why is the bottom of my snowboard white?

The more the white lines or tiny white hair looking patches are at the base, the dryer the section is. It is an indication that you should wax your snowboard. It is normal for the white lines to first appear at the section of the board that often makes contact with the snow.

How should snowboard feel after wax?

Step 7: After scraping off the excess wax, your base should feel smooth to the touch. Stand the board on end and look down the base to ensure no lumps or wax was missed during the scraping process. It is also important to remove any wax that may be left of the metal edges of your board.
