Threadlocker is applied on the threads of the nut and bolt and then it is bonded together. The liquid adhesive spreads evenly between the nut and bolt and then hardens into a thermoset plastic in the absence of air and presence of metal ions, locking the nut and bolt together and that is how LOCTITE threadlocker works.

What does Loctite Blue do?
