Can you see Lake Tahoe from Mt Rose?

Is Mt Rose a volcano?

An extinct volcano, the mountain is in between Lake Tahoe and Reno. State Route 431 traverses Mount Rose Summit southeast of Mount Rose. Due to the high elevation, most of the precipitation that falls on the mountain is snow.

Can you sled at Mt Rose?

One of the favorite local places to go tubing or sledding is on the death-defying hills around the Mount Rose Meadows at the top of the Mount Rose Highway (Highway 341). There are numerous hills near the highway where you can carve out your own run.
